Re Rent

Re Rent (also known as Re-Rent Vendor) refers to a scenario where a business rents an asset from another vendor or third party to fulfill a customer's request. This feature allows a company to expand its service offerings without needing to own every piece of equipment in its permanent fleet.

Key Details of Re Rent:

  • System Category: This option is managed under the Assets – General (Details) section.
  • Associated Action: When the Re-rent option is selected, the Vendor field becomes active, allowing you to specify the asset’s third-party source.

Use Case Example

A rental company receives a request for a specific high-capacity excavator model that is not currently in its own fleet. Instead of turning the customer away, the company uses the Re-Rent option to acquire the machine from another vendor and then rents it directly to their customer.
