Planned Availability

Planned Availability is the projected status of rental assets based on scheduled orders, reservations, and maintenance windows. It allows a business to forecast what equipment will be ready for rent at a specific future date, ensuring operational readiness and preventing double-booking.

Key Details:

  • System Category: This metric is managed within the Opportunity – General (Summary) and Inventory Snapshot sections.
  • Inventory States: The calculation accounts for Available After Reservation (assets returning from current jobs) and Assets On Hold (reserved but not yet dispatched).
  • Scheduling Impact: Users enter a Tentative Start Date and Tentative End Date to plan for availability and coordinate future logistics.

Use Case Example

An equipment coordinator checks the system for a generator needed in two weeks. Even though the generator is currently marked as Assets On Rent, the system confirms its Planned Availability because its current contract ends several days before the new Tentative Start Date, leaving sufficient time for its return and the required post-rental inspection.
