Branch Location

It refers to a specific physical facility or site operated by the rental company where inventory is stored, maintained, and prepared for customer use. These locations serve as the primary hubs for regional operations and logistics management.

Key Details:

  • Shipping Integration: This term is formally categorized under the Customer – Details (Shipping Details) section of the system.
  • Customer Pick-up: It is the designated site for the “Will Call” shipping method, allowing customers to collect rented assets directly from the company’s facility.
  • Inventory Coordination: Transport tickets are utilized to organize and track the movement of items between different branch locations, ensuring that assets are positioned where they are most needed.
  • In-house Logistics: When a branch location uses its own resources for these transfers, the transaction is classified as “Inhouse” within the transport ticket details.

Use Case Example

A customer needs a generator immediately and selects the Will Call shipping method to avoid delivery of wait times. The system identifies the nearest Branch Location with the required unit in its active inventory. The customer then travels to that specific facility to pick up the asset, and the branch staff records the transaction to update the unit’s status from “Available” to “On Rent”
