Preventive Maintenance Configurations

Preventive Maintenance Configurations are the predefined settings and rules within the system that automate the scheduling of recurring service tasks for your equipment.

Key Details:

By establishing Preventive Maintenance Configurations, the software ensures that assets are serviced at the right time – either based on the passage of time or actual usage – preventing costly breakdowns and extending the overall life of the fleet.

  • System Category: These settings are managed within the Maintenance module and are directly linked to specific Asset Groups or individual units.
  • Trigger Types: Maintenance can be triggered by Time Intervals (e.g., every 6 months) or Meter Readings such as Engine Hours (e.g., every 500 hours) and Odometer mileage.
  • Automated Service Orders: When a threshold is met, the system can automatically generate a Service Order, move the asset to a “Not Available” status, and notify the maintenance team.
  • Compliance & Safety: These configurations often include mandatory Inspection Templates that must be completed before the service order can be closed and the asset returned to the “Available” pool.

Use Case Example

A rental company manages a fleet of telehandlers that require a deep-service check every 1,000 operating hours. By setting up these Preventive Maintenance Configurations, the system monitors the Engine Hours recorded during every check-in; as soon as a unit crosses the 1,000-hour mark, a service alert is triggered. This proactive approach is a core part of the asset management solution that helps businesses transition from reactive “break-fix” cycles to a more profitable, organized maintenance strategy.

It’s essentially like setting a recurring alarm for your machinery – ensuring it gets its “doctor’s visit” before a minor issue turns into a major headache!
