Call Sheet

A daily schedule used to coordinate deliveries, pickups, or service calls across teams.

What is a Call Sheet?

A call sheet functions as the day’s operational blueprint. It outlines which customers need deliveries or pickups, where teams must go, and which assets are assigned. Typically used by field or logistics staff, it ensures everyone knows their route, timing and contact details.

Application in rental/asset logistics

In a rental business, a call sheet may list: the truck assigned, driver name, pickup time, drop-off time, customer site address, asset IDs, special instructions (e.g., «site requires safety induction»), contact phone, and notes such as “deliver by 08:00, use ramp access”. This detail helps reduce delays and miscommunication.

Integration with digital workflows

Modern rental systems often link call sheets to mobile apps so that drivers or field crews can access them on their phones, mark jobs done, upload photos of delivery condition, and update status live. That real-time update feeds back into inventory and billing systems.

Performance monitoring and review

After the day ends, call sheet data can be analysed: Was every job completed on time? Were there missed pickups? What caused delays (traffic, site access, missing asset)? That helps operations managers refine scheduling, plan buffer times and reduce cost of field errors.
